We were both born to Texas families and chose to stay in Texas to ensure we could celebrate every birthday and holiday with our large extended families. Ian comes from a large family of four children and countless aunts, uncles and cousins who live across Texas. Growing up, Ian's parents melded the traditions of his mother's Hispanic family with his father's East Texas family.

Bobby's family all live within an hour of our home. We all enjoy getting together on weekends for barbecues, trips to the zoo, or swimming in Mimi and Papa's pool.

Both of our families are excited about welcoming a new addition to our clan. We look forward to watching our child playing chase with their rambunctious cousins, picking tomatoes in the garden with Papa, and helping Gramsi decorate her Christmas tree. We can't wait to see our child enjoy the traditions we grew up with as children and still enjoy today – from carving a pumpkin on Halloween, to hitting the piñata at Easter, to playing board games while camping.
